About George

My earliest memories are of drawing with chalk and crayon as a very young boy. My youth was consumed by doodling cartoons of cars and fantastic creatures. Mad Magazine, political cartoons, and the Sunday comics were my mentors. I was always trying to capture light and dark; why did some things pop up while others receded? My formal training came from Fleischer Art Memorial in South Philadelphia and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in center city Philadelphia. After a tour as an infantry Marine in the mid to late 60's, I began a career in the making of fine jewelry, which I have always viewed as a small wearable sculpture. My wife Melinda and I have owned and operated our family jewelry manufacturing shop since 1983. Our daughter, Irene is currently pursuing her Graduate Gemology degree.
